Heather Flynn has been leading recruiting functions for more than 15 years and has a proven track record as an inspiring, values-driven leader. She is a coach who excels at developing unique and innovative recruiting strategies to equip businesses to achieve their objectives and build a sustainable culture of success.
Heather has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and thrives on the close relationships she develops with the business, HR, and her talent acquisition teams. Throughout her career she has proven to be highly valued as an adviser and strategic partner to business leaders.
Heather currently leads the global recruiting team for Puppet. Puppet is a leader in the space of DevOps and is a high growth tech company that has has 7 offices across the Globe.
Prior to Puppet Heather was at Nike where she lead the Global recruiting teams for Marketing, Sales, Communications & Sports Marketing, as well as the critical North America Geography. She was one of several directors that also owned executive level searches while leading her team and this key responsibility kept her closely engaged with all levels of the business. During her time at Nike the North America business grew over $2 billion in revenue.
Heather’s Nike team operated at a relentless and expert level consistently hiring over 500 talented employees a year at all senior levels across the business. Heather quickly earned a reputation for developing innovative recruiting strategies closely aligned to the businesses drivers in the categories she supported. Examples of this results-orientated thinking include experiential recruiting events, creativity campaign, and business case scenario interviewing.
Prior to Nike, Heather spent 6 years at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, the second largest independent public relations company in the world. She was responsible for all aspects of recruiting including Employee Referral Program, Diversity, University Outreach & Internship program, recruiting systems, SEO, and SEM. One highlight of her time at Waggener Edstrom was presenting at the first ever Social Innovation Summit on “How to build a social media strategy to attract and hire top talent” to an audience of over 500 recruiting professionals.
The rest of Heather’s professional experience goes across retail, wholesale and technology companies where she started as a recruiter and found her passion for connecting people to their dream jobs.
