Brian Mork

Brian Mork got started hacking when he was twelve years old as a way to play video games on his poorly underpowered computer. After high school he joined the US Navy where he worked in the intelligence community, and eventually moved on to defense contracting. While helping to design and develop specialized systems to support intelligence analysts he first attended DEF CON, the world’s largest hacker conference, and realized it was where he belonged. Since then he has written multiple security software tools such as distributed password crackers, co-founded and runs a national-level hacking group named Team Cryptolingus, written and won multiple Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions (similar to Sourcing.games), written and spoken on a wide variety of information security topics, and actively participates in Dallas Hackers Association, DEF CON Group 214, TheLab.ms makerspace. By day he serves as the CISO of Celanese, a Fortune 500/S&P 500 company, where he provides strategic leadership, enables employee engagement, and shapes the security posture to protect against internal and external threat actors.
