$249 Paid Workshop: The World Is Not Enough: Sourcing For Candidates On All Social Networks
When you have a license to source, all bets are off.  You want to find all the candidates no matter how hard they try to hide.  Social networks are great because of the high amount of candidates that use these sites.  Also, because social networks are built around similar interests, they can make for a great way to target by group.

The only problem is searching some of these.  Some of these networks have very little information on the profiles and some of the networks absolutely require you to be connected before you start messaging the users.  So how can you use these networks for real-world searches?  With a little help from James Bond, we will teach you how to source:

  • LinkedIn - Getting the most out of LinkedIn with just a free account
  • Twitter - That's right!  Some people use Twitter as their primary network
  • Facebook - with almost 2 billion users, you had better not skip this
  • Pinterest & Instagram - Again, this is the primary network for some people
  • Meetup - So many candidates all centered around a location and an interest
  • International Sourcing - Xing, Viadeo, Weibo, Mixi, RenRen, Qzone, etc.

Not only will we talk demonstrate the use of these networks in sourcing, but we will also show you what do once you've found your candidate's social profile.  Whether you are a newbie, an intermediate sourcer or an expert, you will be able to take away many things from this lab.  We invite you to bring your laptops, your questions and your ideas.  Come prepared to learn a lot and change the way you think about sourcing.

Life in the Age of Ubiquitous Data: A Vision in a Social Engineer’s Dream
While you take a walk, catch a ride-share, watch tv or surf the Internet, your every activity generates information. New developments in technology have made the world a better place with greater accessibility to resources. From social media to massive financial institutions, we all live within a web of networks, which are comprised of elements and the relationships between them. A skilled social engineer understands how to capitalize on the tiniest bit of information, carefully examining individual components, beginning with the largest (your network) and working their way down to the smallest: you. It shouldn’t be surprising to learn that 90% of data loss incidents and security breaches feature a social engineering component, but what if I told you your trail of digital breadcrumbs can be used to alter your perception of reality?

Social Engineering: The Human Element of Sourcing and Recruiting
Talent acquisition is all about people. So why aren't sourcers and recruiters more focused on understanding people, what motivates them, and how to best communicate with and influence them?

"Social engineering is the art, or better yet, science, of skillfully maneuvering human beings to take action in some aspect of their lives." – Chris Hadnagy, Author of Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking, and creator of the Social Engineering Framework.

In this session, Glen will delve into various foundational elements of social engineering, including empathy, framing, preloading, elicitation, scarcity, social proof (and many more!), explaining how they can be leveraged to yield higher response and candidate conversion rates from discriminating, passive talent, and how to more effectively elicit high quality referrals.

In a perfect world, your relationships at work would be harmonious. Both parties have realistic expectations, agree on timelines and success metrics, empathize with each other’s needs and enjoy a positive working relationship. Ch-ch-Changes: How Advertising Can Infuse Your Sourcing Strategy
We know times are changing. New technologies are breathing life into struggling sourcing strategies, helping even the least tech savvy teams evolve from tools that look at lot more like the Jeffersons than the Jetsons. While looking toward the future provides some hope for the tech nerds out there, there are already tools and channels available for strategic teams to narrowly target critical talent for their organization. They just aren’t the ones we’re always posting about on Facebook groups.

In this session, you’ll learn how digital advertising can be used to research and drive results in your sourcing and recruiting efforts. We’ll bust the myths around key buzzwords and enlighten you on the potential power of deploying these tools in your strategy.

This will not be a fluff, dream-big style presentation. Katrina will share free, or almost free, tools for managing advertising, strategies that deliver for niche and hard-to-fill roles and metrics to indicate if you’ve got it figured out or you’re missing the mark when it comes to social media and job advertising platforms.

Sourcing might be the first thing or second thing – or even the last thing - your organization thinks about, but it’s a necessary aspect of a high quality recruiting program. Building the program requires dedicate time, resources, and innovation in order to get quality candidate pipelines and secure top hires.

Whether it’s strategizing on being a better partner with your business, trying out new sourcing tools, building a sourcing funnel metric model or even creating a sourcing strategy from the ground up, you have to be willing to rethink your approach and take calculated risks to get results!

Noelle Hunt Bennett will take her 7 years of Amazon experience, her 10+ years of HR, Recruiting and Program Management leadership experience – with a deep focus on sourcing and training - and walk you through some proven unique approaches to sourcing and recruiting.

Whether it is easy shifts you can implement more immediately on your team – or going for the “Think Big” ideas – these methods will help you drive enthusiasm inside your organization, and get better results in your candidate sourcing efforts!

How to Hack the Perfect Recruit
In March 1986, Dark Creaper of the PHIRM wrote How to Get Anything on Anybody. During that time, there were minimal resources for obtaining information online, and hackers resorted to old school methods such as phone directories and searching court house records.
Fast forward to 2017, when petabytes of digital information is available to view with a single mouse click. Join cyber analyst Lisa Bock, as we explores the use of high, and low-tech tools to dig public information. You’ll learn how to take advantage of the power of Googlebots for super searching, to look for emails and other information on a website.
Together we’ll tackle this mission and obtain as much information about the target as possible. We’ll evaluate open source intelligence tools to search information on public resources on the internet, such as websites, directories, email addresses, job sites, and, of course, social networking.
At the end of our time together you will have the tools in hand and the skills to create a complete picture of your Perfect Recruit.

Breaking the Vault: Sourcing Tools and Techniques to Unlock Candidate Information
Overview

In this session, the speaker will provide resources to identify additional candidate pipelines through site searches, association sites, publications and customization tools like CSEs. However, that’s not the only secret in the vault! We’ll also dive into URL Sourcing, listservs, Data Miner, and ways to “unlock” profile sites through manipulation of Boolean Syntax.

What to Expect
Expect searches outside the normal avenues and extensions (like Linkedin and Indeed). Association sites and certifications can be doors to the data, we’ll go over several methods to “pick the lock.” Although some extensions may be mentioned, this session taps into alternative resources that aren’t floating on the surface.

Who should attend
If you are interested in a list of tools or ways to search for new resources, this will be the ideal session for you. Some Boolean knowledge may be helpful, but not a requirement.

Takeaways

• Free Resources outside of Linkedin and Chrome Extensions
• Tools and strategies for all industries (including Healthcare, Tech, Manufacturing, Engineering, Research)
• Advanced resources for the “Data Extractor” Types
• The Vault

ATAP Working Session – The Fundamentals of Establishing a Sourcing Function
The Association of Talent Acquisition Professionals (ATAP – http://atapglobal.org) has a primary goal of establishing a Body of Knowledge for the profession, which in turn will help to establish common standards for education, measurement and ethics.  To establish this Body of Knowledge, ATAP will be gathering and validating quantitative and qualitative data from a variety of sources, including working sessions at conferences such as Sourcecon.
We invite you to join us for a working session (meaning that all those who attend are expected to participate and get to work) to discuss and debate the fundamentals of how a sourcing function can and should be established, focusing on resources, process, roles, goals and expectations. This foundational work will help strategically define how organizations should look to successfully build and maintain sourcing functions in their organizations.
A committee of ATAP members will be bringing the results of their initial work on this topic to this session. A facilitated discussion will present their findings and invite your perspective, experience and any evidence that you bring along to support your position as it relates to this topic. This peer review effort will be a critical step to help advance this work, ultimately towards a generally accepted set of educational standards.
